1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy
2. Kinds of Information Collected
In general, you can visit our Web Site without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself.
We collect personal information from you at several different points on our Web Site. However, we collect this personal information from you only if you provide the information to us voluntarily. For example, when you register, create an account, post your resume, or sign up for one of our services you must provide us personal information such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit or debit card information.
Our web servers may collect anonymous, aggregated information such as when you visited our site, how long you stayed, where you went while you were here and if you linked here from another site. Oceanwide aggregates such information to measure the use of our Web Site and to improve its content.
We may also collect certain information about you, such as your IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, domain name, links you clicked on to reach the Web Site, and information regarding your operating system and browser when you browse the Web Site.
In addition, we collect information about you when you request information about our programs and services, and when you send us an e-mail, so that we may respond to your message.
3. Your Resume
When you post your resume your information is stored in a searchable database in the United States. Any information you post in the public areas of the Web Site may be accessed, used, stored and disclosed by others.
When creating or posting your resume you may select our confidentiality feature, which allows you to keep your contact information confidential. If you select the confidential contact information feature, your resume will be searchable by prospective employers, but your contact information will not be displayed. If a particular employer is interested in your resume, you will receive an email through the maritimeemployment.com system notifying you that a particular employer is interested in your resume. You may then choose whether or not you want to contact that employer. If you select the confidential contact information feature, please be sure to also remove your contact information from any supporting documents you post to the Web Site.
Oceanwide attempts to limit access to the resume database to authorized users, such as subscribing employers. However, Oceanwide cannot guarantee that other parties will not obtain access to the searchable database. In addition, Oceanwide cannot control how any third party uses the personal information they access in our searchable database.
4. Use and Disclosure of Your Information
Oceanwide uses the information you provide to us to provide our services to you. We may also use the information you provide for promotional and marketing purposes. In addition, Oceanwide occasionally receives inquiries from prospective employers that are trying to fill a position on short notice. If your profile matches the prospective employer's requirements we may contact you about that opportunity.
We do not sell your information to third parties for any purpose.
We sometimes engage third parties, such as contractors, to provide certain operational services to us or on our behalf. We may share your information with those third parties as necessary for the third party to provide that service.
Oceanwide reserves the right to disclose your information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process.
Any information or documents you post in the resume database, or in the other public areas of the Web Site will be accessed, used and stored by others. These third parties may be located in countries that may not have data protection or privacy laws that provide the protections of the data protection or privacy laws of your country of residence. By posting any personal information in these areas you consent to such information being accessed, used, stored and disclosed by such third parties, and acknowledge and agree that Oceanwide is not responsible for the actions of any such third parties.
5. Reviewing and Revising Your information
You can see, review and change your profile information, your resume, and any supporting documents or videos you post to the Web Site at any time by logging into your account and making the necessary changes. At any time, you may request that we delete your information by sending us an email at email@example.com. Although, we will make every effort to delete your information from our databases, we may need to retain your information in our archives and records in order to comply with law, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Online User Agreement and other policies, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law. In addition, we cannot delete your information from the systems of third parties who have accessed your information on the Web Site and stored such information on their computer systems.
6. How We Protect Your information
We have procedures in place that are designed to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information. We will maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. However, such precautions do not guarantee the absolute safety of your data, and Oceanwide makes no guarantees, warranties or representation that your information is protected from viruses and other security attacks. Further, Oceanwide cannot make any guarantees with respect to the actions or policies of third parties that access, use or store the personal information you post in our searchable resume database or other public areas of the Web Site.
